One thread is not a deal
An AE is measured on pipeline and on what closes, and both turn on how many people at the account know your name. Cuvy finds the rest of the buying committee from the same LinkedIn page you were already reading — a job title at a time, priced before it spends. One credit per person, once, however many addresses come back for them.

A deal with one contact in it is a deal with one point of failure
Every AE has been told to multi-thread. What stops them is not the advice.
A single-threaded deal is one holiday, one reorg and one resignation away from going quiet, and it usually goes quiet without telling you. The committee is discovered late as well: you learn there is a security reviewer at the moment the security reviewer blocks you, and you learn the finance lead has an opinion when the quote comes back with a question on it.
The reason the advice does not get taken is administrative. The address for the person you have just learned about sits behind a platform you have no seat for, or behind a request to operations that will be answered on Thursday. By Thursday the call has cooled and the note you wrote to yourself has scrolled off the top of the account.
Four people is four credits. The point is not the price, it is that nothing has to be requested from anybody, so the thread gets opened on the day the reason for opening it existed.
Three things, none of which involve a second person
- One search, four people
Search the company and the titles you are missing
Not the whole org — the two or three roles you learned about on the call. Finance, security, the person your champion said would have to sign it.
- Priced before it runs
Look at the price before you spend it
The run tells you what it will cost before it starts. Anyone you have looked up before is skipped, because a person costs one credit once rather than once per visit to the account.
- Straight into the CRM
Put them on the account, not in a spreadsheet
Push straight into HubSpot, on any plan. The push is checked against the contacts your CRM already holds, and a person who is already there is updated rather than created twice.
Billing that suits working the same company twice
An SDR touches a person once. An AE comes back to the account for a year.
- One person, one credit, once
- The VP of Finance you pulled in the spring is free when you come back to the account in the autumn, and free again when the renewal lands. There is no re-lookup and no expiry on a person you have already been handed.
- A name nobody can place
- Not charged, and not quietly dropped either — they come back in the file with the gap marked. Knowing that two of the committee are unreachable is worth having before you plan the sequence around six.
- When the thread moves companies
- Job-change monitoring flags the people on your list who have gone somewhere else, and finds the new address without charging you twice for the same human. Pro and above.
- A quarter spent closing, not prospecting
- Credits carry into the next month up to twice your allowance, so the quarter where you were in negotiation rather than in discovery is not a quarter of budget written off.
Doing it yourself, versus asking for it
| Row | Cuvy | A request to ops |
|---|---|---|
| Time until you have the addresses | While the call is still open | Whenever the queue clears |
| Who has to be involved | You | You, ops, and whoever owns the data tool |
| The people nobody can find | Named in the file, not billed | A shorter list, with no note about who fell off it |
| Adding a fifth name on Thursday | One more credit | A second request |
| The same account next quarter | People you already have cost nothing | A third request |
What AEs ask before they use their first credit
I need four people at one company, not four hundred. Is a run worth starting?
Yes, and it is the shape the billing suits. There is no minimum run size, no per-run fee and no charge for opening the extension — four people is four credits, and you are shown that before anything is spent. A run of four is the same run as a run of four hundred; only the number on the preview changes.
Is Cuvy worth it if I only work twenty accounts?
Twenty accounts, four or five people at each, is at most a hundred credits — inside Starter at $19 a month, and inside the free 25 for the first fortnight. The argument on a small patch is not volume. It is that the people you did not email are usually why a deal stalls in legal.
My champion has left. What happens to the account?
Job-change monitoring tells you when someone on your list moves, and the address at the new company is found once and not billed a second time for the same person. It is on Pro and above. In practice the alert is worth more at the new employer than at the old one: your champion has just arrived somewhere with a budget cycle in front of them.
Will these contacts land in the CRM as duplicates?
No. A push is matched by email against the contacts already in your CRM: a person who is there is updated, and you choose whether Cuvy fills only the empty fields or overwrites. That is how it works on every plan. A CSV export, by contrast, comes out whole, and your own import rules decide what happens to it.
The person I need has no LinkedIn profile. Can I still reach them?
Cuvy starts from a person on a page, so with no profile there is nothing to start from. Two routes remain: a single lookup in the web app takes a name and a company domain, and a CSV of names and companies can be enriched in bulk. Neither of those needs LinkedIn at all.
Somebody forwarded me an address. Does checking it cost a credit?
No. Confirming an address you supplied is free and does not appear on the invoice, which covers the one your champion forwarded, the one on a business card and the one already sitting in the CRM. If the same lookup also turns up an address you did not have, that is a person found and costs the usual single credit.
